Hi Mark. Airbox looks the danglies. Are you planning any dyno time to remap the ecu to suit? It's not the same obviously, but the R1 is very sensitive to airbox/exhaust mods.

Will have a power commander fitted soon and setup in time for a rolling road shoot out at minisport which is organised by M******ITY in April.
As for tonights progress, i have set up all the suspension on the car now using tracking gauges, castor/camber gauges and the turntables.
It was a time consuming job but well worth it to know it is all spot on so far but a road test tomorrow may settle things a little so it may need a tweak again?
Heres this evenings going's on.........

Here is the castor and camber gauges being used.

After a lot of adjusting and setting of the front suspension i got everything to stay at the settings i wanted as when you adjust the castor it moves the camber & tracking slightly a which also needs to be reset before a measurement is made.

Anyway it was friday night and a day off tomorrow so the bench began to get a little crowded!!

Posted Image

I only have the rear tracking/camber to adjust in the morning as it is set parallel for now but it doesent take long to adjust but set the gauges up tonight ready

Just a wash and polish left to do then playtime sunday!!!!

Cheers

congrats on the feature Mark, the mag came through the door the other morning and i was having a flick through before i went out and was reading the mag and thinking "i swear i have seen this before" it was only when i saw about having a mk2 escort that it clicked it was yours off here :D does look damn nice though and quite a sleeper ;) i only have 2 criticisms without meaning to offend one being no carpets or heel bourds as experience has taught me use just kills the paintwork and the other being the sportspack arches cut down for front arches which dont look finnished because of it and the rears which are mounted higher up yet the bumper bulges (where they lined up with the bumper) are still there? but apart from that its sweet :D

still think its worth the £14.5k though?

Well it was a really nice day sunday so i went out for a drive and done about 120 miles with no mechanical problems what so ever and had a little blast aswell where we could, also had a friend holding my camera for a bit of in car footage, its a bit bumpy but so was the road.

Mark,
Looks like your car's causing a bit of a stir on another certain forum

http://www.minifinit...P...pic&t=56592

Sad that people are more interested in the fact that it's been reshelled rather than what a good car it is.

Mark,

Your car's looking (and sounding) really good.

Did you borrow the wheel alignment gear or is it yours? I can feel a trip to Wales coming on :w00t: :-

As for the comments on the other forum, at least there's an element of sense being talked towards the end of the thread, but there's really no need for the attention grabbing topic headline. I suppose I keep underestimating the number of up-tight do-gooding small minded morons in this country, which is no mean feat considering the amount of them I seem to deal with on a daily basis!

I've had the miniworld feature car questionaire since September, but I've just decided not to bother proceeding.

Dean, The wheel alignment gear is a friends but i am ok to use it when i want really as long as i return it in a timely manner, it didnt take long to do really once the arms have been off a few times, just requires loads of patience!!
Give us ashout if you need a hand?

Mark

I noticed someone made a comment about the lump on the rear arches. I think it looks ok on yours as the black seems to disguise it more. As you know mine are white and the lump is quite noticeable. Have you thought about getting round this without changing the arches. Maybe cutting it off and filling it somehow. Been looking at mine today and the only other solution i could find would be to remove the lump and then fit some kind of small mud flap. What do you think?

Like the vid, but its a pity about all them minis holding you back.

cheers

Im not really too bothered about the various comments made by other people as it has been done for a perfectly good reason and not that i couldnt fit them correctly in the first place, im very fussy with how things look but that is very low on the things to do list if at all to be honest?
Brakes, exhaust system and bulkhead is on the list for this year.
Going to bingley?

Cheers
