Found out the car was made in November 1962 and registered in July 1963

Decided to do the worse job on a mini - rear swing arms. After 50 yrs they where looking a tad rough

So I made a reamer from an old spindle

Then cleaned, painted and replaced all bearings both front and rear, all original MOWOG parts over 50yrs old and ready to go back on

Those arms look great - after all the dirty work it's a good feeling when all the parts are clean and shiny and you can start putting them back on isn't it?

Your extra switch panel - do you think it was shop bought or home-made? I'm designing one for my extras and can't decide whether to go angular or curved

I cannot remember the exact details of the switch panel so I'll have to dig it out and get a picture. After all the hard dirty work its always nice to look back and see whats been accomplished

The switch panel looks too good to be home made, no markings on it so can help on where it came from

Bought a new loom, 3L of Dinitrol cavity wax and 40 sheets of sound deadening

Installed loom

Anyone who has done this knows how much your fingers hurt afterwards, going to add thick foam underlay on top for a quiet ride

Finally finished the sound insulation

Mmm Cosy

20150808_154746.jpg

Then decided to fit front subframe and lights

20150808_154825.jpg

Which meant having to clean up some more 50yr old parts

Whilst in cleaning mode I couldn't resist doing the rear badges

Looking very nice mate!!!

The new loom looks very nice and its great to see it coming together...

So did you change the gen to alternator and is it a case of just getting an alternator with either internal or external regulator? Did the wiring loom cater for that change?

You have done a great job with the sound deadening!!

Cheers

The loom has no provision for a dynamo regulator, its just a standard alternator loom from that sense

I'm hoping to get the rear subframe in this weekend, leaving just the front hubs before it can go back on wheels for the first time in a decade :o

Rear subframe is in, still have cones and hilo's to fit but ran out of time

Next was to check all the electrics were working

I decided to dye the seats and door cards as they had gone brown over the past 50yrs due to the sun, dont look too bad if I do say so myself

Just need to find some replacement passenger cards to finish off
