My comments before were on return from the run that night, so it was a little negative i admit. A combination of lack of sleep, the drumming in the ears on the spritely drive home and not to mention the carbon monoxide in the blood, did not put me at my best. Excuses, Excuses, I know :nugget:

Well after a night of rest and detoxification, I hereby would like to tell all of how I enjoyed the event without a stonking head ache. Excuses again :nugget: :nugget: :nugget:

It is always a pleasure in seing all the young children looking onward in awe at the Minis, counting them as we and they passed by, drawing thier attention from the real reason thier parents took them to Blackpool in the first place - The Lights. Not only this but was satisfying being able to use the least used item on any car- the horn, and hearing the general public joining in  . Great to see some of our elderly public still has a sense of fun  .

Who was the bloke with the Claxon horn, brilliant

And once again it is always a pleasure to hand over some money for charity, by doing events like these, and glad the money is not lining some ones pockets.

The highlight of the event was not as before, but when we reached the north pier, the tram that looked like a ship tooting its great honking horn in time with all of ours. Public servants with a sense of humour too  fantastic.

We eventualy pulled off at the waxworks as the poisoning was getting realy bad.

Other possatives were that the car never overheated or fluttered in about two hours of crawling traffic, bonus  , though i did end up with clutch foot

As for the organisation, it realy wasnt that bad. Incidently. We were the first at the meeting place, thanks to my navigator, only to look behind and see no one there, it was quite funny realy. Slowly but surely people started turning up and we ended up pulling others in of the prom and gather them up and made the best of the situation.

I never did manage to get that massive foam ten gallon hat

so it was not all bad :dontgetit:

Thank you everyone for turning up... all such lovely people, and generous too which is so nice to see, especially for a cause such as this one.
I'm that 'Crazy' one in the pink silly wig who looked after the raffle bit, all I can say is. brilliant !! The raffle raised £74.21p which I shall pay in direct to B.C.C. as soon as I get to the bank.
WELL DONE JIM and KRISSIE, and all the helpers.......good luck for the next one !
146 Minis were there exactly by the way !!

Mini Sprocket - I think at one point I was about 3 places behind you at the first meeting place, then ended up slightly in front of you as we set off down the prom (although it wasn't my engine that choked you, its properly set up! ).

I 'think' I may also have had a look at your car, and leant down to speak to the female passenger (?) and told her what a nice car it was - were you on the l/h side of the road at the meeting point, half on the kerb looking onto the prom?

As everyone has said, good event, i'll be going next year too I reckon!

I was also pleased, as my car didn't get above 90 deg at any point, even after idling for well over an hour and a half!
