well in the last few weeks ive been absolutely addicted to discovery shed Whaching Matt Haynes & John Wilson fishing & decided to get my tackle back out & go fishing, Now all I want to do is Fish! Just wondering if there are any other keen Anglers on here? Know some good spots south east, Lakes, Fresh water rivers!? or just like to sit on the bank & chill! These days catching a fish is a bonus to me.

i love fishing too. i once challenged Dog and a few others to a match but nothing ever came of it. i went on sunday but the fish are crazy spawning at the moment so wont be going till next month. had a dozen or so bream up to 1 1/2 lbs. there is some nice fisheries over this way. i hate a hectic life and fishing is so relaxing.

are you a carp man or do you do "real" fishing with a float?

My mate Just sorted me out a Royal mail bag, so good for all my stuff, also found my landing net other day so will be sorted! you say about spawning? didnt know about this, Just mean there all breading atm & not interested in food?

I haven't been for a while but love carp, general match and trout fishing. I never use bite indicators though - I find it too boring to set up then walk away and just wait for a beep so I prefer to use a indicating float or something similar if carp fishing.

The whole debate about fish being hurt or not during fishing I think will go on forever - but I remember my dad telling me about what happened with him once (he has always been a very keen angler and owned a tackle shop since I was a young lad). He was carp fishing once and got a bite but had action on his other rod too - by the tie he had started to play the first fish it had moved on a good distance, then while he was playing it his mate caught one too. It turned out it was the same fish, so whilst hooked it must have carried on feeding, which implies that it wasn't in much distress.
