i'd go for #3.

I'm a mad carp fisherman too. just got back from a weekend stint at a place called Chequertree fishery in Kent. (near Tenterden)

its a really lovely place with some amazing fish too. loads of different types of carp, even ghost carp. and goldfish lol!
best thing is that they have massive Sturgeon in there too.

this is what i caught yesterday and last night!
both just over 15lb :)

those sturgeon really fight hard!!

we went to rayne lodge fisheries here in braintree, caught loads of nice fish on the pole. nothing too big, had some really nice crucian carp and bream. this is the swim we fished, the far bank was an island. most people would try and get as close to this as possible but we found fishing at about 7m was the best. its not all that deep in there, about 4ft. we are going to join a club soon too.

Some nice fishies there! I tried fishing a few times, never took it up as a hobby, but it's good for relaxing when i get all stressed :xmas:
You have to watch this, it's a good idea, but the advert and marketing ruins it! Lol,
Max

Thought it was about time I posted in this thread, I'm a mainly pleasure angler fishing course and game. Not really a big fish unter as i'm just happy catching fish.

I have recently started to fish matches as it is the only way I can get out fishing at the moment.

Fished one yesterday which I would with a total 5 hour bag weight of 75lb bang on.

Yay me

Yes mate, poled fished spam right next to an under water tree branch in the margins, average size of around 4lb but man did they go like steamtrains once you got them into open water.

I go fishing aswell, haven't tried getting all the gear in the mini though?? Only do carp fishing, but have been known to float for anything if I'm not catching any carp!

I go to Elphicks near Goudhurst, near where southern mini days will be this year, its well stocked so its not too difficult to catch, used to go to Monk lake near marden but since they change it round a bit I just couldn't catch there???

we went to rayne lodge fisheries here in braintree, caught loads of nice fish on the pole

I think I've been to Newland hall once, if thats the one near chelmsford??? Very nice lake in the summer from what I remember - apart from the rats!!!!

Didn't go atall last year, hope to to go this year but there are quite a few mini events going on aswell?

Fished Rayne a few times some years ago but only the bottom lake when we hired it for a match. Belong to a local club which only has one water but haven't been for over a year. Hope to go more this year if I can fit in the time between mini things and domestic chores.

My favourite place to go fishing is a place called Wylands near Hastings,
its a huge place like an outdoor leisure centre but for fishing,
its got about 8 different full sized lakes depending on what kinda fish you
want to catch but its mainly carp lakes.
I havent been for ages cant wait for summer when fishing season starts
properly

i can get all my carp gear in the cooper no probs

take out the passenger seat, and the bivvy goes on the back seat with my chair behind the drivers seat, one bag in the boot, one bag on the floor with my rob bag going from the passenger footwell onto the rear parcel shelf! hehe with plenty more room for little bits n bobs like a bucket or two and my bait

yeah, even with the low back seats you can still get a seat box over them, my pole fits lovely between the seats and into the footwell.

that is a lovely tench dog! 2lb?

heres a brilliant way to catch big tench etc...

make yourself a paste. .

get a bag of stinky trout pellets or halibut pellets. make sure they are the smallest pellets.

pour some in a tub and add a bit of water .

mash them up into a paste.

get the consistency right and then mould a small ball of the paste around a size 12 hook.

doesnt matter if the point of the hook is buried (in fact i make sure it is)

float this bait so it is just touching the bottom of the lake. i always find it best to fish in the margins.

ive caught some whoppers like this lol.
