The Engine - awaiting the gear linkage which will be a rod change if I can't find the bits to convert it to a cable linkage and the pipework for the hydraulic clutch which it's being converted to.

The Subframe - 99.9% complete, just awaiting a new turbo to do the front bar.

Here you go Bean:

Yeti - I can't see a problem with the legal side of things. They are a vast improvement on the standard and a lot of modern cars use LED rear/side/front lights nowadays

Quick question. How are you doing your brake lights?

Edit

Also where did you get them from?

Either one of two ways, In-line resistor or adjust the duty cycle of the LED.

All the LEDs came direct from HongKong via eBay, then all the components bought from the usual places (Rapid etc). Then my lovely other half built them, along with a screen and a custom loom and all sorts of other funky electrics.

Thanks for all the positive comments they really help and I've really got a drive on now the subframe is complete! :D

Thanks, same idea i had, 2 different resistors. Dont know if they will look the same in estate rear lenses though but must be worth a go.

If you do manage to get the gearchange to work with a cable lever I'd be very interested to see how you do it - I want to do this to my Clubman Estate when I convert it later this year - I hate the look of the Vauxhall gear lever assembly and where the rod goes is right where I've got my stereo mounted at the moment and I don't fancy moving it!

I've been thinking of getting a cable lever off one of the later Vauxhall gearboxes and try to adapt it to the earlier ones [goes off to do an eBay search...]

Hi JR,

Will keep you updated. Depending on how much you are willing to spend then if you look up A1 Vauxhalls they will sell you all the bits for a cable change - but at a (imo) stupid cost.

The rod change I was talking about would be similar to the KAD design one (not that ugly vauxhall pos!)

This week I will mainly be looking for someone to make my driveshafts :D :-
