Hi guys,

Sorry to hear that Jamie. I heard the crunch and slammed on the brakes and got out, hence it was abandoned in the middle of the road for 5 hours but no damage. Definately sounds like I got lucky so to speak.

Retro10s - my saviour!

Thanks guys.

Still undecided where to take it as im supposed to have AA parts & labour cover for a garage to do a repair, but apparently they are not honouring many peoples claims at the moment.

Thats not good, I've just took that out!!! Hope you get it fixed, let us know if they wont cover it, so I can cancel my aggreement. :P

I didnt risk it in the end, and after knowing that it would cost less than the excess to replace, I just got them to patch her up and very slowly push her down the drive.

In fairness to the AA they have been out to see my Mary more times than I have taken her for a drive!!

I would definately keep the parts and labour cover, im just going to save mine for something I cant do/afford to do.

Fair point, it would be silly to waste the cover. Is she gonna be back on the road for L2B? the timing couldnt have been worse!!

Unfortunately we wont be attending L2B this year. We entered the game a little too late really. We are however all booked in for IMM so hoping everything will be sorted out by then. The only reason I was going to take her out today was to ironically get her to the garage to see if she was mechanically sound!

The devil works in mysterious ways...

I think if this was any other car, after the problems in the last few weeks I would be screaming for my money back. However in this situation, I really couldnt bare to return her. Just going to have to keep throwing money at her until she works I think =]

Let me know when you get to the £7k mark =] That's Monty's running total at the moment for resto, repairs and general maintenance.

You'll get Mary up and running soon enough! She's just having a 'Mini Moment'. These little Quant cars have a suitably artistic temperament.

I thought AA would only do "warrenty" type cover for repairs on cars newer then 1993?

Unless ofcourse, your mini is that new....

We checked with the AA when we phoned that the mini would be covered and they said it would so I assume it is. The cover was mainly taken out for my Mazda but if they will cover the mini then yay!
