To be honest, I only originally posted the link to see what kind of reaction people would have to Mr Clarkson's comments.

He's a man who has use Devil's Advocacy as a gimmick to keep his career going. Love him or hate him he knows how start a debate/argument.

He's an intelligent man, but I think he has wasted the past few years insisting on relying on this gimmick alone & I think he has become somewhat of a one-trick pony. Shame. He could do so much more with that brain of his.

I don't think he always thinks his arguments through before he puts them forward. Having said that, he certainly knows how to get a debate going, as this thred shows. It's refreshing in this politically correct world to have someone who makes no bones about making his views known, even if those views are at times unpopular or inaccurate.
