Alspeed frame is wider than a standard mini subframe.....this had us guessing for a bit until a quick google search found Kam's build diary on 16v minis ..... All made sense then .....
So rather than bashing bodywork and compromising the positions for the top shock mounts on the front inner wings, we've took a slice or two out of the alspeed frame and welded it back up again. Did the cuts on the fold points of the steel, this allowed us to 'tease' the steel inwards a little when closing up the gaps, and once welded it's now about 4mm narrower each side.

In this pic, you can just about see how the tower tops on the subframe are just ever so slightly wider than the bulkhead cross member..... This obviously stops the inner wings from mating up properly.

its developed into a slightly more complex concept..... that may involve 4WD.....more info soon, concentrating on getting Earl finished first with the 16V 1380 running gear
