Hi All!
Left school today!! Seems really weird, hasn't hit me yet >_< Such a great feeling though, even though I will miss quite a few mates as they are going elsewhere
Only seems yesterday I started comp, and now it's all over! Onto Sixth Form next, doing A-Levels in Physics, Maths, DT Resistant Materials and French.

Just thought I'd post this up and see what everyone else did at the age of 16!? Sixth Form, College, Work? Or just be a bum... :closed: :D

i went straight into factory work. at the time i just wanted money. i wish i went into a trade now as now i would be making a very nice wage. my advice is to learn something which will lead to better things.

Nice! I would love to go into vehicle design, but even though the vehicle industry is huge, vehicle design seems near impossible to get into!

I have no idea either! I chose a 4 year course to help make my mind up...but I still haven't decided. I've got a summer internship in the technology division at Merrill Lynch, so we'll see how that goes. Research is really interesting but you get paid peanuts. I guess my dream job would be designing weapons, but failing that I'd be quite happy working at the AWE/MOD/Qinetiq.

But earning money for nothing is a much better plan >_<

Yea, Im thinking more Single seater F1 really, start of small, formula ford, formula palmer audi etc, valuntry work, then become the next Adrian Newey >_<

Its not too hard to get into really, if you know your way around a few CAD programs and know the basic effects of aerdynamics on a Race car, like finding the right front flap angle at a certain track so that you can slipstream the car in front but keep the flaps at an angle which will still enable the car to enter the following corner without over-steering off then you should be okay lol.
