After that, I applied for a random job on the college noticeboard which turned out to be an engineering apprenticeship with BT, been there.. *counts* not too far off 5 years now, god I feel old. They'll have laid off 30,000 people by the end of the year but they're actually not a bad company to work for

Although it isn't a "trade" as such, because you can't transpose the skills from the apprenticeship to another job anywhere apart from Virgin Media who apparently are appauling employers.

Its not too hard to get into really, if you know your way around a few CAD programs and know the basic effects of aerdynamics on a Race car, like finding the right front flap angle at a certain track so that you can slipstream the car in front but keep the flaps at an angle which will still enable the car to enter the following corner without over-steering off then you should be okay lol.
Don't take this the wrong way buddy but I think there's a little more involved with designing a race car than working CAD programs haha.
I left High school in 2006 with 11 decent GCSE's all A*-C (except R.E haha)
I always fancied getting hands on education like my Dad and I've always thought you cant beat hands on practical experience. So I went and did a advanced apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, I'm training to specialise in CNC programming and setting machines for a very reputable precision engineer's who supply pretty big name company's, haven't been laid of yet whooo so lucks like i'm doing something right and I've survived the recession.
Currently nearly at the end of my third year and planning to move onto a foundation degree then eventually higher education, definitely sticking with engineering It would seem.

I hope i know enough about motorsport to get me into it at a very low level at least. I Know the basics about it all, like general aerodynamics, wind tunnels and things like that, but i guess alot of it you just learn along the way if your a motorsport fan?.

YEY, NO MORE SCHOOL, for a few weeks.
damn exams, i hate em lol
Im going to 6th form next year, for maths, physics, IT and DT. then i plan to go on to do a mechancale engineering course at brunell, or leeds uni. then i want to start my own business, or get into the car indstry or renewable energy. i have already come up with a plan for the next generation of wind turbines to make them more efficiant.
