Holy brown sticky stuff :genius:
Either you are running a v-tec or you are 18!

lol i am 18 and my 1275 has only cost me 1100 fully comp!

XD

What insurance company is that with? I'm 16, and by the time I'm 17 my 1275GT will be my first car, really not looking forward to the first year's quote! :errr:

its direct line mate, just don't even consider mentioning the word moddified to them  mines changing to adrian flux at renewal time, because the 1 years ncb will offsetr he cost of declaring the mods  also, i have done the pass plus certificate which gave me a 200 pound discount XD

er.. HIC? I'm with them too, but I only have minor mods, 'stage one', cosmetic bits, roll cage etc and pay £287 FC.

i used adrian flux on my 1991 cooper, £164 fully comp with break down cover, thought was superb until i sold the mini and cancled the insurance and found out that im not intitled (spelling) to any money back because i was just over 5 mths into policy and classic cover don't refund after 5 mths, think they should tell people from the start myself, as this happend to anyone else.

Thats better, phoned HIC and they will give me fully comp, on a classic car policy, for £146.00 and it costs £11.75 to agree the value with 6 photos.
Much better the £300 :)

i never told my insurance about my modifications to be honest, it was £1400 frst year for a standard 1000cc! when someone ran into me i was fined £25 for not telling them about the modifications. as with my new car, according to them its a standard mini 25, doesnt have wide wheels and arches and a stage 3 cylinder head amongst other fast road mods. its cheaper to do it that way i think, and its keeps my premium right down.

£300 is a pretty good price and other people seen to get good deals.

My insurance is £470, I have a 1330 MPi, with various other mods. Value is agreed at £8k, I can't complain about that.

aay?! is that on your parents or something? I'm 17 and will be paying just a touch over that for 6 months once I've done my pass plus. After the 6 months Endsleigh will give me a 1 year no claims discount with them which will cost me about 1k for the year, so a bit over 2k for one and a half years...third party fire and theft ...I searched for days for insurance, the cheapest I could get for a year was about 2K. Did I forget to mention I have a standard 998cc?..

Computer says no

Best speaking to a decent Insurance Broker rather than a trained chimp at a direct insurer. Any deviation from the norm and they can't cope.

Forget about direct line, i had them for a while, they give you a good quote, and its ok for the first year. Then premium will rise like mad during the following years.
