Is this legal then... Always been a bit of a debate

Putting the film over lights as far as I'm aware is Illegal, however the Lucas Light covers are genuine items with the beam pattern attached so I don't think they are illegal.

Lucas ones deflect the beam the opposite way for uk roads, i run mine when I feel like it in the summer, but they're pretty rubbish at nighttime though!
Saying that I've got a set for the Midas too, only held on by clips to can be fitted in minutes. :)

I've wrapped all my minis lights in transparent vinyl, never had a problem with the law or at MOTs.. You could peel it off on the roadside if you ever did have problems, but it's not illegal as its yellow so I don't see why you would ever have to.

Yellow is legal mot wise providing the sidelight is incorporated in the headlight. Ie roundnose are ok but clubbys unless got wrong headlights in are mot fail

From a police officer 'Headlight/sidelight bulbs are allowed too be white or Yellow/Amber) I have yellow headlights and yellow side lights in the red mini I am Buliding and got my friend who is a police officer to check. The beam patten is the main thing to be carful of. If you paint the lights it may ruin the beam pattern which would then make them illigal. Using tinting film should be ok. Yellow bulbs would be best though.

When the French were required by law to have yellow headlights, a Frenchman once said to me, when I was in France with my legal-for-me white headlights, that he wished he could have white lights so he could see better at night.

If you remove one complete spectrum of light you simply get less light on the road.

What is the perceived advantage of yellow?
