I don't think there's any perceived advantage, just aesthetics. I think they look good on the right colour car, of a certain vintage!

Actually the French were required to have yellow lights by law so that civilian French vehicles could be distinguished from German vehicles of the occupation forces during WW2 when France was occupied. They are the lights for a defeated nation! (Listen carefully, I shall say this only once ).
If they cause less dazzle it is because they give out less light due to the light-filtering effect of the yellow lamp covers of yellow bulbs. That's basic physics.
But if you like them then that's fine.

They won't be going on my car, but I do understand why people like them. I just posted the link as the units seemed like a tidier option to paint or film, for those considering it.
I dream of the day when I can worry about finishing touches like this, instead of just waiting for the next rust discovery by the bodyshop. If I stop answering the phone, will they stop finding more tinworm?
