A few more bit and pieces such as seals and front lights, gauges etc etc, which I dont have pictures for, but I've spoken to the garage in watford and it wont be for a couple of weeks still as they're working on an American car still.........I hope it goes before Xmas, it been on the drive under covers for ages it seems. I may take it upto oldskoolminis in birmingham.

Hiya All,

Few updates on the mini, I've pulled the plug on the Watford garage as they kept on putting the date back on when I could bring the mini to them to get the panels welded. I've have decided to use the mini specialist in birmingham-Old Skool Mini's (Thanks GottaDesigner):D

I went up on Friday to have a chat and have a look at the work they do and I'm more than happy having them do the work on the mini....all the paint jobs were awesome ! I've booked it in for the 2nd week in February so I'll be taking it up with my sisters husband on a trailer on the back of his 4x4.

I've also been busy ordering bits for the mini, I managed to bag a magnolia off Ebay in good condition so I'll be fitting that to the car at some stage to the carbon fibre dashboard.

Great service from minispares as always:

I didn't get enough time this weekend but I removed bits in the engine bay that i didn't need. There is a fair bit of rust which old skool minis will sort out thankfully. I'll be taking the front subby out in the next 2 weeks and give it a lick of paint while its away.

As the snow as affected postage the pedal box hasn't arrived from OBP however it should be sometime this week along with the minisport order.

Getting a bit ahead of myself but got a few more bits to order still such as:

Fuel Tank
Fuel Hosing
Bucket Seats
Alarm & Central Locking Kit
Tie Bar & Lower Arms Kit.
P700 Lights
Exhaust System
CF Dashboard
CF Bumpers

I should be starting work on the engine mid February as I'll get a week off work, hopefully I'll have less setbacks can get some crack on with things.

I was looking at the possibility of using my cylinder head in an exchange but its a 12g295 and not a 12g940,also the current engine block which is 998cc. I'll be putting it on ebay after I give it a good clean as I cant exchange it with a 1275 block.

Cheers,

JD

Cheers Yeti,

The boot floor comes with a template, it takes up the whole rear of the car, I'll be relocating the battery and washer bottle of the car. It sits around 60mm deep and the sides angle in slightly. It'll be bolted to the edges of the steel once the whole has been made.

I would say it'll be a perfect fit, just make sure your whole in the floor isnt too big. But the template supplied helps out alot.

pick'n'mixminis- I remember you, you had the white mini on King Richard Street next to my mates place, I also remember seeing the yellow clubman on the road. I think I saw a for sale sign on it- you're not selling it are you

That clubman is sooo nice really good colour as well.

Welding the new panels on I've got as well as the CF boot floor and arches, taking the whole shell back to bare before respraying the mini.

To be fair I didn't like the colour and the zeemax kit was a pain!! Now I'm getting the mini the way I want it and its going to be really good once I'm finished.

I'm on placement at BMW Mini in cowley until july, so I'm living around headington/cowley. My mini is in london at my mums place, I study at Coventry university with a few others on here.

Got a few more bits in the post today, new battery cable that I'll be running inside the car & new wheel valves from Huddersfield spares. Expecting the pedal box any time this week.

Update 02/02/10

Got all the parts and all systems are go for next weekend, I couldn't make it to Bingley on Sunday as I was stuck in London helping a friend out.
