What Would You Do?

Even worse, before that I had a Mk1 shell that had a new front on it, one door needed repairing, and a new boot floor, then a full respray inside and out, but I was in too much of a hurry and bought the Mk3 instead. I ended up giving the Mk1 shell away - what was I thinking?
However... it did mean that I had lots of spare bits and my Mk1 Cooper Grill, badges etc to use on my new project now!

I am going to have to agree with the guy above - that car is pretty well gone rust wise. You have to wonder if it would be better to find a better shell.
What are your roads made of in Britain - Acid?
Well the thing is mate the car sat in a bush for 10 years
Not by me before you even say anything and its just the sills have gone and the floor has dropped
You wait until its in better condition

No, but they're bumpy enough to knock trim off your mini XD. I must admit its pretty rusty but nothing some panel replacement and respraying can't fix . And a weel-sorted 1380 Mini will see off most modern hatchbacks. A 1.0 Corsa doesnt stand a chance at the lights.
Yeah i know its rusty and yeah panels and a bit of spraying it will be fine thats the plan
Yeah thats what i said but apparently his will hit like 120 and i'll be hitting 100

Any demented fruit thinks a corsa b will beat a 1380 mini needs to be rehomed to the funny farm!! That is unless the 1380 goes kaput half way to 60! A corsa will barely hit 120 downhill with a tail wind, i spent 6 months trying to wrestle mine past 105!!
And just because a mini has a rust problem doesnt affect how it drives, you can have just as much fun!!
Rant over.

a 1380 will out do a 1.0 corsa hands down.
my sisters 1.0 corsa breeze can reach the 90-100 mark but it don't half take its time getting there

i'd keep the centre speedo, i'd keep the stripe on the bottom, looks well good!
basicly i'd keep it as is with some 10" wheels...
on the engine front, i can do 90mph in my 1100 engine...

Does it help that i creamed a 1.8 Corsa Gsi off the lights early this morning. Ruddy Chav, laugh at my car. Pah! Have, some of that!
^^^ Does it help that the GSi's were a 1.6?
Yes you will cream them off the line and in the corners but the X16XE vaxhall engine has alot of torque high up the rev range. My Mrs used to have a 1.6 tigra which she traded for a mini. But on the way to trading it, I absolutely DESTROYED a BINI Cooper S.
The only corsas that are in anyway quicker than a mini is the Corsa B Sport and the Corsa B GSI.
A Corsa C SRi Will absolutely annihalate (sp?) a mini.
The Corsa D is terrible and slow apart from the VXR or the Arctic.
I should know, i've got 2 mini's and I work at a Vauxhall main dealer. Whoever said the new corsa can do 0-60 in 8 seconds must have been talking about the VXR. Because the others are slower than any other corsa ever made.

My car ran at the pod ran (14.9) at 92mph and 14.6 when i stripped all the crap out of it (585kg)
I cant see a 1.6 N/A Corsa running anything quicker then 17.5
So annihilate? Dont think so. Were not talking about a standard mini you forget, were talking about a well sorted 1380 with around 100bhp.

Who are these people that think that chavy corsas are the best thing since sliced bread, STOP KIDDING YOURSELF!!! It will be beaten off the line by a horse and cart!!
Don't want to get into a Mini vs. Corsa argument here, but these are the facts:
Mini production spanned 50 years with many different models and styles available, the Corsa did not.
The Mini was and may still be regarded as a fashion and trend icon. The Corsa can be regarded as one too, albeit a tasteless one. Particularly the chavved up ones, they are horrible.
A Mini has true customisation, if you try and mod a Corsa it will always look like a car who belongs to someone with a £500 Halfords voucher.
The Mini has bagloads of character and is adored by millions, and will go on to be adored for many years to come. I think long after Minis have vanished, the memory of them will still be in people's minds. The Corsa will be forgotten.
The right, well-sorted Mini can beat any Corsa in a race.
I won't post in here anymore, "J4M3S X" needs to join a Corsa forum. And I don't think the name James is spelled with a 4. some of todays youth embarrasses me, and i am the youth
