I'd absolutely love to keep a Thorny Devil, they are amazing creatures!
Apparantly they're next to impossible to keep though

i really want one, but yea not worth the effort you'd have to go to to keep them alive. i read somewhere about either keeping massive colonies of the ants they require. or breeding crickets and feeding them on nettles. either way just finding one and being able to afford it would be hard enough.
think im getting a male and two female water dragons next. n maybe a few more female cresties, once the breeding starts = ]

Thats a lot of ants to count 2000 can you not dig out some ant nests and keep them in a big tank. Only the black ants i have also red ones but you do not want many bites of them.Do they not eat cockroaches, green fly, blue bottles or 100000 nats.

Yeah, i'd read about them requiring australian ants too. Not heard of the cricket thing though.Thats a lot of ants to count 2000 can you not dig out some ant nests and keep them in a big tank. i believe their diet is restricted to a certain species of ant that only live in austrailia. so you'd have to keep a huge number of these breeding. i think its a certain chemical in these ants that the lizards need. which isnt normaly found in the usual feeder species. but i have herd rumours of crickets fed on nettles being a suitable alternative.
nice lizard to look at but might not have as much personality as beardies. im sat next to the girl friends and hes making an escape attempt as i write this. i'll let him out as soon as he poo's. im sure anyone who has one will understand, its not good for carpets!
