I'll be paying him off next summer! All of my summer wages will be funnelled straight into his bank account :)

Can anyone recommend a local (East Midlands) bodyshop? Could do with lining up some quotes.

And as for the colour, totally undecided! It will be retro though! Either blue, grey or OEW. I'd consider Sandglow yellow if you can prove it looks good and not like my Grandpas knitted vest :D

EDIT: And with the arrival of Paddy, I will be making a 'Part 3' of the build section.

Good stuff Luke, it'll certainly speed things along.

Island Blue I've always loved.

Dad stop winding him up! :)

Yeah it is nice :D OEW could look lovely as well, maybe mix it with something else to create a new colour.

Lots of OEW mini's about (not that there is anything wrong with that!), don't see many Island Blue I think. Black roof and colour coded arches; B-e-a-utiful! Wish I could rethink mine thinking about it now!

Inspiration!

I walk past this on the way into lectures every day, further up the road is a Citroen DS, brightens my mornings!

I'll try and get a photo of the interior but its almost an exact conversion of how I'd like my mini.. powder coated matching wheels would be cool, I've got 10x6" GBs for anyone who doesn't know. The top dash rail is stickered as well, another thing I had considered doing as both my dash rails will be bare metal.

Black leather interior, roof rack, MK2 rear lights, MK1 boot lid with swinging numberplate, suitcases on the rear seats containing my sound system, dashboard covered in old switches and gauges etc etc..

I can visualise that :P

Bloody hell your committed.
To be honest you learn so much doing a project (well I have) your ideas and opinions change and the finished item is never what you first set out to do.
I've decided to got for a steel rather than FG front end on mine now too.
Loving all the retro stuff your collecting, it's going to look perfect. Autoplas dashboards look amazing if there done with old school gauges.

Cheers mate!

I remember talking to my ex about two years ago when I first got it about what plans I had, I remember it involving 13" wheels, a clubby front end and tinted windows :o Lucky I was skint at the time!

I'm going to tidy up the autoplas dash, lead to believe it has a small crack near where one of the front window screen demister sits. Cut holes out for my gauges, switches and map light etc.. & then have it sprayed the same colour as the bodywork when it goes to paint.

Watching a few 'job lot' of switches on Ebay at the moment, will be just what I need :)

Really nice to hear!
