Firstly i have stripped the engine back down again, as i wasn't happy with the build-up, i believe the shells were the wrong size and was not confident of the build tolerances. I am therefore taking the bits to Rob Walker on Saturday to build up the short block and fit the straight cut drops i've purchased.
Drops and Duplex setup acquired..
Finished fitting the fuel lines. Inline fuel tap in the cabin.
Also needed to figure out a solution to the different thickness manifolds. The Mirage exhaust manifold has thinner flanges than the metro turbo inlet manifold so to allow them to both be clamped up tight to the head i made some stepped washers.

Waiting for the engine to come back from Rob Walker still so struggling to find stuff to do at the moment.
I therefore have designed the new wiring loom that i will be making from scratch as the old loom is fudged, and as i don't have half the electrical components of the standard car, as well as having a Digidash, megajolt etc. i thought it would be much easier to start from scratch and make a loom that is much better than the original. I am going to have individual fuses for each circuit unlike the original shared fuse box, all mounted in the cabin along with the relays, flashers etc.
I made a circuit diagram in TinyCAD to give me something to work with when my cable and connectors arrive.
Also have made diagrams in excel for the fuse connections, relay connections and all electrical connectors that will be present on the car. This way, when i have a problem in the future, i have all the documents to refer to when troubleshooting.
I was dreading this task, however now that i have got my head around it, it all seems simple.
Also managed to get the bootlid on with the seal, and put a new cam lock in which works a lot better, the fit is pretty good for a F/G panel and the seal is tight all the way around so hopefully no leaks.
Got lots of bits coming this week so stay posted!

Good quality though for the money.
Got my Polycarbonate rear windows today, and after trying to put the rear quarters in myself, i gave up and will wait for a spare pair of hands to help.

Headlights and indicators mounted to the front end
Dummy Petrol Tank Neck and cap fitted with new seal
And took the brave decision to drill a two inch hole in the rear valance to fit the LED rain light that will be my fog light. Still a bit of fettling to do to the hole to allow the unit to be angled up to a more horizontal position.

All the front end electrics converge to a single multiplug connector for easy front end removal.
Also made my aluminium parcel shelf
Ready to start the dashboard panel tomorrow

Then the aluminium
While i was there i made a switch panel too
Pretty basic really, but as im having a digidash mounted above the column, the dash is only really there to hide the mass of wiring as well as provide somewhere to mount the fuse boxes, relays and megajolt
