Owned one 3 years now, and its only broken once which was totally my fault (though got it fixed in under 2 days for 90 quid). They just simply work.

i work in a school as a IT technician,
we use macs for music and never had a problem ever with them (intergrating into a windows based network) one or two problems here and there with the older ones, but still going..
people say that 'macs don't get viruses' but theres always a threat so its good to use one of the free anti virus programs.
some people also say 'you have to leave macs on all the time' not so, mac runs daily, weekly and monthly scripts that are set to initialise at 3am but you can easily change this time to something a little more appropriate (google is a great help with this, or to download some software to do it with)
Easy to use, easy to maintain, easy to clean, a pleasure to look at. and its a mac... and if you really really need to use some windows software, get something like parallels so you can use windows software will still being in mac os.
go on... come hang with the cool kids.
PCs are good for a business network without spending too much money, but the same can easily been done with macs, it just costs a little more.

If macs were as good as everyone seems to think then why do they have such a tiny market share?

Believe me, people get swayed by firstly price and secondly and stupidly by processor speeds!
Processor speeds on paper are fine, but every PC owner out that will have a heavy duty Anti virus crap running ontop which totally negates any speed gain. Macs (although not immune) really are free from viruses, and in 20 years I have had one worm type virus on one machine and none of the macs have ever had virus software running.
Not only that, obviously macs look better, but what a lot of people forget is that in 3 years, the value of a pc is basically worthless, whilst a mac is very sellable and regularly see 6 year old machines fetching £100.
If u want a cheap and cheerful office machine, for accounts or something like then then fine buy a £130 dell, but for everything else a mac will give soooo much more back to the user.
Macs rule guys, take it from me!

Cost, unfortunately mac are expensive... and many people 'cant use them' (when they haven't tried, people just don't like new technology and change)

I've mainly used photoshop on Macs and dear god it was terrible! My PC (or even my super-slow laptop) can put a filter over somethiing instantly, you get a Mac to do it and it sits there and you get a pretty little icon running round and round for 5 minutes while it goes and get's itself a cuppa-tea, sits back down, turns the TV on then thinks about what you asked it to do whilst having a kip infront of the fire. And 1 button on the mouse!!!! Grrr!!!

Oh, and Macs do get viruses.. once my mouse started controlling itself and opening applications. quite annoying, but kind of funny too. that's the only thing that's gone wrong with mine in 2 years.
If you HAVE to have a PC you should at least have Linux on it lol- i think that problem is windows, not PC
