Photoshop on a mac is unbeatable, every graphic design and printhouse I deal with all use macs!!

Your mac u used probably was a bit older (as again people hold on to them for a lot longer) and probably running a newer, version of PS which needs 4gb of ram to run well.

The nest version of the mac coming soon no longer has a keyboard!!!!! just a ball!

Anyone slagging a mac only has to sit with an iphone for 5 minutes or even a nice ipod to appreciate apple products.

but you keep saying they are soooo much better, faster, get no viruses, don't break, look better yet people still buy a PC?

Just saying "because they cost more" does not really cut it, Mac and Microsoft both started within a few of years of each other and they have been more expensive for the past 25+ years?

Mac.

Owned one 3 years now, and its only broken once which was totally my fault (though got it fixed in under 2 days for 90 quid). They just simply work.

What if your webcam breaks?

Erm What? ;D

That fact remains, Mac's are the best computers to own.

Of course its not just the cost.

Several factors have led to the UK demise.

Cost is a biggy

and because they were expensive, schools, many of whom used to use them, stopped and moved to pcs., thus kids only knew pcs, kids become adults and hey presto, buy a pc. Apple a few years ago launched the emac aimed at the education market, to regain a foothold, it worked in america, but here they were still too pricey here!

Businesses also, as accounting software has always been better suited to the cheapie PC than a mac so again the mac looses out.

and finally, apple is very tight with its product prices, they allow a tiny margin for resellers, so they have also put them to the sidelines, yes you will see a token mac in pc world or dixons but not many, and try finding a sales person who knows how to work it or what it can do!!!

I could sit with anyone for a morning and convert them! guaranteed! As i speak I am sitting with a mac mini (5x5x2") little box under my tv, connetcted to my 50" plasma giving me full internet, email, moveis, music, PHOTOSHOP, at the touch of a button and all for £400

Alot of people are so used to a windows interface and hate chance so much that they just assume that they will hate Mac.. it took me about a week to fully get used to it when i first tried.

this initial difference, the fact that "there's only one mouse button!!! there's what?! but how does this witchcraft work!?!?" and THEN the cost means that people stick with what they know...

even if it it $hit.

Kind of like how millions of people were wrong during the holocaust .

Well you could not sway me! I have to work with macs (I-macs, Macbooks, MacPros and a Xserve) and I would choose PC every time.

i just wanted to see what other people thought but im nto bothered about the whole mac is better than pc or vista versa (HAHAHA get it ... no? sorry ;D )

Im happy with my mac and i will never revert to PC. My Macbook Pro is the best computer i have ever used. OS is by far the superior operating system and now its even better with the introduction of Snow Leopard.
