Hi all,

This is mainly out of curiosity and because im grounded and bored stiff :-

A while ago i found a Project ICE build consisting of the Alpine Type-R gear which is what im planning on using hopefully next year.

I've been searching for it for the last half hour and cant find it >_<

Wanted to see how far the bloke got and if theres any finished pictures.

If anyone can help it would be really appreciated

Why can't you find alpine type r stuff, it's on eBay. I've got an alpine 12 inch sub off eBay and an alpine component set, type 5x7s with crossovers and tweeters from eBay aswell. Have a look there mate.

yeah ive got all the stuff amps and wiring kits on my faviroites but i cant find the thread. That one Monkey Biz mentioned is pretty good though. Im trying to woork out if two 12" subs and an amp physically fit when you board over the rear seat.

yes, look here for your calculations http://www.the12volt...io/boxcalcs.asp

infact you could build a isobaric quasi eigth order series tuned dual reflex bandpass enclosure using 2 dual voice coil 4ohm 8"subs running in series parallel to show a single 4ohm load that wouold blast out a pair of boxed 15"'s let alone a pair of 12's and fit it in the boot and keep the back seats (just think about insurance for removing the back seats)

it may seem cool having 2 big subs at the back of your head but imagine having an awsome box hidden away in the boot........ other people will feel the bass but only see a wee pair of sizes inside until you open the boot lid :w00t: , it would blow the clothes of a woman!!!

just remember in the 90's mb quart took the soundoffs by storm with a amazing bass box that was 15"x15"x24", its was a sixth order isobaric design, went down to 20htz and contained 2x 6" mb quart subs

To get the best sound out of those subs you will need to work out the volume of the box, or boxes if your putting them in seperate enclosures. Work out the area with WxHxD, you might find it easier to split the area up into seperate boxed just to work each one out then add them all together. Once you work out the area behind the panel you'll know if they will fit where you want them to.

The thread you're looking for wouldn't be this one would it? Alpine Thread

not forgetting to take off the volume of the sub when its inserted when calculating the correct box size.......... most over looked part

Cheers for the replys guys, i was kinda on about the width of the car, wether the two subs would fit side by side with the amp squeezed into the middle or wether i would need to down sze. But what youve said has sunk in. I was thinking about having a box mounted behind the speaker with a hole in. (On the back of the board)

Heres one example Clicky

Quickest way is to get your tape measure out and do the math
