Have you got the dimensions of the amp and subs your planning to put in? I've got a stripped shell at home so I could measure it up for you tomorrow if you want? Have you thought about what type of enclosure you want ie sealed, ported, bandpass??

Thanks mate i would really appreciate it.
Heres the gear

Sub Dosnt say an exsact size but they're going to be pretty close to 12" i should admagine.

Amp 380mm wide. (about 15")

So im looking at 39" in total but thats touching so, idealy i need about 45" - 50" wide i rekon.

As for the box i was goin to ask some advise nearer the timefrom the website in the links. If i need ported i'll just cut a hole in the bx the side i need and if its sealed... then thats one less job for me :)

Thanks

Ok.

The Sub - brilliant! Top sub and lots of power handling

The Amp - Good for running two speakers and a sub but will not drive your sub as well as it could. It should be enough to start but I can guarantee you'll get bitten by the bass bug and want more power!

Alpine recommend the PDX 1.600 mono block amp to get the best out of that sub. Only problem is it's £70 more expensive than the MRP-F600 then you would still need a smaller amp to drive any speakers.

You could always try something like this ported enclosure if there is enough room

The plan was (with lots and lots of help from monkeybiz) to bridge two channels for the subs and then run whats left (up front) off of the remainder.

you are going about it the wrong way, work out what size of box the subs need, a lot of newer subs only need a little over 1' cubed. thats 12"x12"x12" + whatever the sub volume is then work out what size 2 of these are and work out where you can fit 2 of these............... then and only then work out where to put the amp

perhaps building the box where the rear seats should be and have it 2" lower than the rear shelf, once its in then put a false deck on it with the amp above the sub box

just a thought

oh once its done ill give you a RTA and SQ and SPL mini (sorry for the pun) sound off with my 8" sub and my 6" fronts and my 2x24w single amp.....................................

Me being stupid but that last post has really confused me :D

What i meant was have the board with sub either side of the amp in the center, then behind each sub have the box needed.

If this makes sence laughing my ass off

Thanks

what i said was put your amp on top then who cares how wide the box will be, it will look cooler and stay cooler on top then you can hide it behind a perspex window with a couple of fans blowing air over it.......... very pukka!!!

I got the dimensions from my donor shell today when I was masking up ready to fiberglass my sub install. As you can see from the pic there is plenty of room to put 2 12" subs side by side. The dimensions give a rough calculation of 100 liters which is about 3.5cu/ft (I think my maths is right) which is perfect as Crutchfield recommends 0.75'-2.0' ported box or 0.57'-0.75' sealed box. If you go ported you'll get more bass and a lower tuned frequency or sealed will give you tighter punchier bass but still good rumble.

1000mm in inches works out at almost 40"'s. So i think if i down size to 10"'s it'll give a bit more space between the amp and subs so that its not al crammed up. Then also if i run two 10's th same way i was going to run the 12's it'll have a better power supply (Where it was running at minumum power before) Thanks

You could always turn the amp on its side as it is only 242mm wide that way you could still run 2 12's. I tried to get it to scale but its pretty close.

Technically yes but downsizing to 2 10" subs would make it look a bit funny. You'd have quite a large board with some small speakers in it.
