Just a final thought before this thread is put to bed - there was a redex dosing kit - got one in a mystery autojumble lot of guages my mrs picked up for a song at a bootsale you mount your bottle of redex to the bulkhead tube runs through to a 52mm wotsit in your dash with a tap valve in it and back into a feed directly into the carb - so you can have a james bond style smokescreen at will - the idea appeals but I've got an HIF44 with a take off for a vacuum guage - the only way I can think of directly feeding the carb would be to add another take off plate and ream out the hole a little - but I think the carb would hit the bulkhead with it in place so have got the dosing kit stashed away for when I'm next feeling inventive.....
