This is how i did my speaker pods.
Linky
I think i spent about £40 on materials plus a good 8 hours or so n building them.
The only thing i would do different if i did them gain would be to use Milkshake mix (trade name for a mix of filler and resin) instead of filler as it give you a better surface from which to sand, plus it doesnt go as crumbly as fine sand filler.
To make milkshake mix use 50:50 quantities of filler and resin but dont add either of the hardeners until you have mixed both together thoroughly. this should give you a consistancy which you can still paint on with a brush.
Im not going to ue my pods any more so if anybody is in need of any give me a shout.

My sub box plans changed too. I thought about it but decided to build the box out of MDF instead so it would be more rigid. I am however making the door cards speaker pods out of fiberglass & mdf so they should now work out better as I have all this info to refer back too!
They will be part of the door card and incorporate the pocket as well so it's all 1 piece, should look good when finished. I'll be posting pics in my project thread as I go.
Cheers for all the advice guys, keep it coming.

Some more thread stealing!
As for the flex, my box has the same flex as an inch thick MDF one.
Although it does resonate a bit more.
Progression is slow on this!
12 hour days urrrrgh 6 days a week!
As for the shock mount, it just slots in over the top.

I know what you mean, I've got 2 days left of 14 straight (9 of those nights, in a row)! Lucky I can do small bits at work.
I measured my box volume and it is 16L, exactly what is recommended for the sub so I'm happy with that. I just need to find a decent 4-ch amp now and mount it on the other side. I might do a fiberglass cover with lights for the amp, just to make it look good.

A word of warning with lights and stuff like that! Its very hard to do without it looking tacky.

I will probably repaint the amp I get the same colour as the car and mount it in the drivers rear bin with a perspex cover and a couple of subtle lights to make it stand out. The moulded cover will probably end up being covered in the same material as the front of the sub box.
