When i bought the LCB from maniflow i told them the spec of the engine and that is what they reccomended. As they're the ones who are making the things, i'd like to hope that they know what they're talking about.a stage 2 lcb will probably be doing more harm than good on a std head and cam aswell.

yer but you need to remember they are also the ones making money! not saying that they were lying just putting it out there.
as for only just getting your mini back and not wanting to loose it again, i wouldn't worry too much about that i know what you me i've had the smae feeling/problem. if you aren't confident enough to fit the head i'm sure someone on here would be happy to help you it should take too long to fix. i'd offer my services on afternoon to fit it with you but your quite a way from me lol
i'm still sticking by if you want it as a everyday useable car just do the head and leave it like that you will get 80+bhp if its a good head, i still think vmax is a good shout for BHP for your money. i've seen what his heads can do. and he uses decent race valves etc instead of cheap nasty ones that a few companies use

I've had good results from Rob Walker Performance Engineering. Rob was formerly with Oselli Engineering & did a great job of converting a 998 A+ head to the same spec as a 12G295 for me. Beautifully gas flowed as well.

Yes, sherlock, I built a 1293 engine recently which had one of Rob Walker's heads on. With a 276 cam, etc, we got 92 bhp at 6000 rpm.
He is an absolute 'whizz' with his machining as well and he's done a few special jobs for me such as facing the centre main thrust bearing surface when some idiot has 'spun' his thrust bearings. His prices are good too.
Highly recommended.
