Looks awesome but accent colors should be just that, accents. A red grille on a blue car is going way over the top in my book. I like the idea of leaving just the red pinstripe though!

Hi all. Seems almost everyone is against the idea of it being red. Okay, I bow to your better taste! Bearing in mind I want a Red/White/Blue (I'm SOOO patriotic) theme, what if I paint it white with either red or blue pin stipes? Just a thought?

looks well cool mate. how about leaving it black with a blue pin strip instead, black and blue go together in my opinion. leave the union jack theme for the inside. black wheels with a blue pin strip round the edge will look well smart if you do the grill that way aswell.

Hi Simon.
Yep good shout. Never really thought about black wheels. I think it would suit it. Will definetly change the pin stripe to blue though.
Cheers......Dave

That looks great... Might look meaner with just the single headlights and a debadged grille?

Been done before... :tumble: ( not by me )

But because the lights of the golf are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than the minis and if you're not too worried about originality then it's a top mod for the clubby owner.

Yup, thats one of the best conversions I've seen to date, that looks really neat and very well done. Nice and subtle, how about a chrome edging?

Hi all. Thanks for the kind words and point(s) taken. I will leave it black but reckon perhaps a blue pinstripe might look better(bearing in mind the car will be blue). It's taken an age to do the final trimmings!!! Just shaving a bit here and there to get it just right. The next step it to piece it together. I've riveted it in the centre and now need to "fill" the actual cut. pictures will follow.
Cheers.....Dave

This is super sweet, and I may have to do this to mine! :) I was already planning on getting the rocker cover of my XE powdercoated "wrinkle black" and getting a red OPEL plug cover......this would look nice on a black clubby.....thanks for the idea!!!! Top job man!
