If it's an "F" plate then it's not originally a 1275... there were no production 1275 minis between the demise of the 1275GT and the introduction of the Mini Cooper RSP ( with the exception of the ERA turbo of course )

The introduction of injection is a but staggered, with the SPi cooper being the first,

In the UK at least, Cooper SPi introduced 1st August 1992. Non Cooper models were carb up until 1st August 1995 then changed over to SPi. At that time the Main body loom was updated to include a 24 way fuse box, replacing all the glass fuses whether inline or in the four way box. :shy:

The Mini Cooper (and the 1275cc engine) made a comeback on the Mini when Rover launched the RSP Mini Cooper LE in July 1990. Those sold out in a matter of seconds but that didn't matter as Rover already had a Mainstream Mini Cooper (not so well equipped, but you could kit it out via the optional extras that Rover supplied at the time) that followed on from October 1990.

Then the Mini Cooper got SPi fuel injection and was launched in October 1991.

Non Cooper models got the 1275cc engine too some time in 1992, but those still retained a carburettor (HIF38 as opposed to the HIF44 that the 1990/91 RSP & Mainstream Cooper had).

But yes the non Cooper models also got the SPi engine around 1995, but I believe the 24 fuse fusebox was first introduced with the 1996 Mini Cooper 35LE which was also the first Mini to get inertia reel seatbelts in the rear?

Right anorak head removed.

I have a 95 sprite SPi with 24 way fuse box and a 95 cooper with the old glass fuses >_<

We all know Rover's time line is a little sporadic

True and I always thought it was only the MPi Minis that got inertia reel seat belts in the back.

Paul.
