I like it - nice car. Shame about the rust under the headlight though. I'd also love a mk 1/2 GTi but can't afford the insurance, it's bad enough on my standard mini :)

yeah, but im not worried about the rust side of it, mostly because its all getting replaced with fibreglass. i don't know if im keeping the roundnose or going to do a clubby front yet, probably whatever's easiest when it comes to engine conversion.
doors are rusty too, but again, fibreglass doors when i can.
and a mate of mine is a sprayer (the one i bought the car from), all will be ok :)

can i ask how much you think i paid for it? or is that a weird question

did you buy the car with those lights on? first off i know there not mk2 lights. there the later type with different lenses.

im a bit confused because the top section looks like the usual leyland lens (because of the leyland badge), but the only red reversing lenses ive come across only fit the foreign light clusters witch are a slightly different shape and dont fit the leyland top half and as it turns out are very rare. found a altissimo set at imm for £120!

ive got a right altissimo cluster but it turns out the left is vey hard to get hold of. i managed to get these lenses but there a little odd as there all one peice and i can see yours are 2 peices.

theres alot more light in my photo so the indicators look alot more orange lol

did you paint the reverse light or somthing?

hi, in one word yep.
it's just red rear light tint spray, i do it to all of my cars, just makes them look tidier. i know its not legal with the indicator and reverse light as they all flash red, but oh well.
as far as i know they are just normal mk3+ lights :)

have to say though, it looks well done, could you give me a link to the spray you used? and did you paint the red bit or just the orange/clear bits?

cheers

Heres it on my corrado

and the stuff is from Kevin Coopers, its by 'Savage' and is Red Tint light spray - or similar words. It's the best stuff i've came across for doing the lights, it goes on well and lasts.

I've always admired that bus in Plymstock, and am sure i have seen your corrado around.

How comes your selling the mini?

*MODERATORS*
Is there any chance this can be moved to a project area. As it will be ongoing with updates and don't want to fill up Newbie section all the time.
Also how can i edit the subtitle for the Topic?

Update:
Change of heart on the car, i thought it was too cute to sell and like driving it too much so i put some more money into it.
Got the vitals it needed.

Below are pictures of the car without the stuff fitted yet, waiting for it to be delivered.

I absolutely love the look of this!

I agree with you though, the back isn't quite right.

The front however looks spot on!
