Cheers, the wheels took soooooooooo long to get hold of!!! I ordered one set from P&L Mini and they sent ones with grey inserts then when I wanted them changed they refused to believe that there was any difference! Finally sent them back and got my money back, then I bought some off Ebay but they never turned up and I couldn't contact the seller, eventually had to get Ebay to order her to give me the money back. Then I finally managed to get some from Midland wheel. What a pain!! >:(

It sounds like you have a nice engine there, what colour is it? I found a chrome paint the other day hence why mine isnt running yet im spraying quite a few bits with it, lol!

Also I went to replace the front brake lines the other day but I can't shift the damn things, they are stuck rock solid, ended up shearing the faces off the nut with a pair of 24" stilsons on one end and a 21" breaker bar with socket on the other! Typical Mini!

They're doing the engine in red (it was that, blue or black - so red it had to be!). Those brake lines sound a nightmare, which was the bolt that wouldn't shift? To be honest I haven't looked at mine yet, the car has been well looked after from a servicing point of view, but never owned by a real enthusiast as the engine bay had never been cleaned. I large tin of Gunk later and a lot of cups of tea it's looking a bit different! Hope to have it back on the road for the Brooklands meet at the end of March.

Yeah I thought of doing mine in red but I decided to do it something a little brighter, my Mum suggested white!! lol, silly thing is i was thinking about white as well!

It was where the brake line goes through the subframe with the locking nut on the inside, I managed to get it off today by drilling it out, what a pain!

Gunk rules! Must say I used quite a lot of it on mine.

Cheers man!

Well I did manage to get quite a few bits done today, got all the hubs and running gear painted and all those and the new brake will go back on tomorrow. The brake servo is ready to go in once I have bled the clutch which will hopefully be done tomorrow as well....it's all go!!

I might need a hand once I have the engine running, the rear subframe needs cleaning and painted along with new shoes and brake lines. Same goes for you mate, if you need a hand (although you have your Dad) then give me a shout. Also when you come to putting the engine back in I have use of an engine crane if that helps?

Yeah Scott I have sent it off, got my ticket back about a week ago, number 132....get in!! lol

Spannerhead: I will have mine back on the road by then as well, I will keep an eye out for it, what colour is yours outside?

Ok so I got basically everything back in the engine bay today other than the alternator and aux drive belt but I hit a problem when I went to put the running gear back together. The hubs just wouldn't line up, please if anyone can help it would be much appreciated. Herre are a few pictures of the engine bay and of the problem with the hubs, cheers.

I can indeed, it will have to wait until the end of the week as I still have to paint the alternator and work out where the hell im going to mount the oil cooler! lol.

I have no idea about photobucket but I can get my brother to host them on his website and put the links in here, they will be much higher resolution.

Is it just the engine you want to do to yours then?

Your service is always good :)

I only got back at 4:30 so it was a little dark, once I got the hubs etc. done I found that the disc to drive flange bolts were metric and didn't fit throught the drive flange holes so I had to take them to the house and drill the holes 0.5mm bigger! What a pain! lol, Oh well they will be on tomorrow!!
