Brooklands 2009

This is the first one I bought off eBay for £15. It was ok, but was a tad thin (in width on the roof) and the feet that sit on the roof tend to dent the roof a little depending how tight you fix it to the gutters and what you are carrying.

So after a while I did a bit more searching and found a Desmo roof rack as used by a few people on here. I think I got it for £20 and took it apart and sanded it down and resprayed it. This fixes onto the guttering. I love LowandSlows roof rack and have been looking for ages, keep your eyes peeled on eBay!

Roof racks are one of the most useful accessories on the classic Mini. In the 60's when we used Minis as everyday cars I often fitted mine to move awkward loads. Then I bought a Cortina with a huge boot.

The only downside was the increased fuel consumption and the added wind noise, even when the rack was empty. Blooming useful though.

Yep, I thought that may be the case.. it's a real shame.. the website currently has this message 'IMPORTANT: DUE TO FAMILY CIRCUMSTANCES BUSINESS IS CURRENTLY SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY' their products seems to be the best I've seen.

Anyone have any recommendations for alternatives?
