Well, there is some options

I did one of these last year...

and i have a doner car with good 4AGE sat ready for conversion which was the original plan....

Then after much thought i decided that i would make more sense to go down the Micra engine route as the engine made more sense as it would not be too powerful, then yesterday i was offered a Justy 4wd and that sounds like a fun idea...

Right now the plan is to get it solid, take it for an MOT then convert it from there

Long time since i have update here goes:

Lots has happened, the welding to the one side and sill is done

Sill going on

Sill end plate fitted

Sill done and painted


This is a little bit of old news but heres the doner which has been stripped






then we lift the car over the engine to see what fitment would be like





so that then brings us upto this

a subframe jig we have knocked up as we have a few different frames to do on the mini subframe

Other news, i picked the Turbo up last night, its a nice looking T25 and the megasquirt and wideband is now on order

Righty no picture update tonight:

After looking at the engine in the car and trying it in a mini frame, i can say.... Its not going to work!

There are various issues with the towers and rack position causing problems, so today a Metro frame arrives for me to play with and take a looksy

After a quick mock up this looks good, i even got chance to try the prop in the tunnel which does fit and might even be the right length!

Tomorrow i am going to fit the metro frame and will take some pictures and have a proper mock up of the engine in a frame

Also other news managed to spend just over of $1k on the megasquirt, wideband and all the gubbins its GO GO GO here

Its currently a NA 1.2 3cyl Carb aprox 77bhp 4x4 (switchable)

Soon to be Multi Point Injection 3cyl Turbo est 140bhp 4x4 (switchable)

My donner car arrived and it was one of the MK2 Justys which is one of the genuine Subarus, you can tune the nuts off these engines if you run 2wd, the tranny limits the HP for AWD, but still they are very capable little cars, the running gear in a mini will be awesome

I am converting it from carb to MP injection using a Megasquirt ECU and various other bits un bobs, also have a T25 turbo to liven it up a little bit!

great work i loved the i only touched the floor and it came out part that was comic genius.
Reminded me of when i first got my mini i had it on the ramp i decided for some reason to poke the suspect areas with a screw driver and my hand went thru the floor at one point. Lol

then spent next 2 days welding the floor. Lol

I liked the 16v white clubby looked mean as
When Ive sold my mini i probs wont have one for a while
Unless i get a real shed of a mini and hide it in the garage at my proposed new flat

Head problem has now been sorted, within the next 7days i sould be getting my package from across the pond... yep you read that right i am importing a head!

This is getting quite hardcore now!
