1 amp only, so as Doug suggests the 1.5 amp could be a good choice :)

Jupitus, I was hoping you had found a U.K. source for the 1.5 Amp chip. The 1 Amp chip will do, I just like the idea of having some reserve current capacity.

The only 1.5 Amp chip I have found in the U.S. is made by Texas Instruments (UA7810CKCSE3) and the data sheet for that family of chips can be found here:

Maybe with a specific part number and manufacturer you'd have more luck finding the high-current chip.
