pull off the dizzy cap, turn ignition on, and flick the points with a screwdriver you should see a spark.

If no spark look at the coil the positive terminal see if theres voltage getting to it.


i had no spark what so ever

Did you check if there was a voltage at the positive side of the coil ??

the voltage was fine on the coil. spoke to my friend and he said that i may not be getting a spark because my old head gasket was copper and my new one is not and the head is 'insulated' from the block and therefore is not earthed? does this make sense or is it rubbish?

lol didnt make sense to me but hey worth asking! :thumbsup: im still not getting anything, :) my batterys fully charged and im getting power to the coil so im still a bit confuzzled
