been a busy boy today. Got the new grill put on, and having some hood alignment issues but from what I've seen from everyone elses car its on par with the course. Also got the projector headlamp assemblies mocked up to see how I like them. I am undecided. For the HID functionality part they're awesome. For the looks of a mini... I dunno. Opinions encouraged.

Nice looking car mate, with regard to the hi-lo question , pop off the boot over the ally cone, you may
find there is an adjuster nut under there :)

welp, those projector headlamps are a JOKE.

The beam is so horrible they are unsafe for driving. I've asked for a refund and have ordered Hella E-Codes which apparently do very well with HID retrofits...

Check out how bad the beam is...

Downright unsafe and dangerous. Even with HIDs. Look at that lack of cutoff and focus. LOL

The car is at my audio installer right now getting the following:

Keyless entry with alarm
Image Dynamics Component Speakers
Image Dynamics 10" Sub in the rear deck
Zapco Amp
HID headlamp ballast install
Hella E Code lamps

Should be done tomorrow or the next day.

I have got the pro-motive kit en route from the guys once I wire over the money tomorrow. Wiring loom already converted.

Just picked up this clean 2003 5PW engine with 2000 miles:

I need an ECU, R1 gauge cluster, power commander, gear indicator, shift light.

Are the ECU and CDI the same thing?

I am considering using either the stock R1 cluster for instrumentation, or an aftermarket unit such as the AIM sports MXL...

Anyone know if the newer R1 cluster works with the older 2003 Engine? Would love any and all input. I will be doing the swap with the help of my mechanic. I'm excited as hell to have Pro-Motive #35 and I plan to drive the hell out of it.

ECU is the Engine Control Unit....CDI is a Capacitor Discharge Ignition. Alot of bikes and ATVs use a CDI ignition. My old Honda 200x had CDI, it's a pretty good, simple system. Best of all it's all built in! Man, I am so envious. I am planning on going the Pro-Motive route once I get my Mini back to the states too....also I am looking to get some Sportspack arches and run 13x7 deep dish Superlights....AND I was planning on painting my Mini black so seeing your car gives me a good idea on how mine may turn out. Oddly enough I have been gathering Red interior bits & pieces. I got a pair of Porsche 944 buckets in Red leather, just waiting to find the right set ot manual seat rails.

Don't worry, I've got enough tricks up my sleeve that my Mini won't be a copy of yours! Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing it more! Oh, and if you take off your bumpers can you PLEASE post pictures of how those arches look without the bumpers installed? I am removing my bumpers and shaving off the mounts and just want to get a good idea of how they will look on a black Mini with Sportspacks. Cheers!

One more thing....Frank rules.

Been busy with health and am due for surgery this Wednesday. I'm getting a pain pump implanted in my side to help with chronic pain from pancreatitis. I decided to do an inventory on everything to see what I'm missing. Quality of the subframe is incredible. Really cool piece. Only thing I'm missing are new CV joints, driveshafts and all new poly bushings. Also the cable to put the Qaife reverse unit in reverse.

I purposely got rid of that look. You see it everywhere in Los Angeles. In my case the car was earl sheibed all black, license plate an all.
