it's been a while since i started this thread..
i can only hope there are still some of you out there..interested in answering my questions...
well..
the other day ..i decided to have a go at changing the suspensions and shock absorbers...
although i wasn't sure they were causing any trouble..
in fact i was pretty sure they were not the problem at all..
however, the y looked knackered..
..anyhow, what i initially thought would be 1-2 hours job, turned out to drag on for at least 6 hours
there were obviously various retaining nuts which stubbornly refused to give...
but the biggest trouble was, for some reason the new slightly fatter Koni shock (rear) top bolt was not aligned enough with the top hole inside the NS wheel arch.
I thought this was odd. anyhow, after trying for an hour or so and gave up trying to fit the fat Koni's on but decided to fit some standard ever so slightly more slender ones.

Now, after all this was over a guy from my building happened to have a look at the car from the back and he mentioned the the driver's side wheel was sticking out slightly further than the NS wheel. and IT WAS.
Now, to remind you all, the initial problem was that the NS wheel hit the pot hole and sank down a bit.
I only realised a few minutes ago, maybe the reason why the NS Koni Shock top bolt was not being aligned with the top wheel arch hole was because something holding the NS wheel (e.g. radius arm pin, wheel bearing etc) is damaged.
In retrospect, I should have tried the OS with Koni to find out if there's enough alignment to go through the hole to see if this is true.
Now, my question is, what do you think of my hypothesis..? and If you agree with it, what would it likely have damaged?
