Just a quickie. I've got rust under my headlights, a few bits around the wind screen to the extent where i can see it on the inside and it gets damp, my floor panels need replacing (Getting water in the footwells. Will this mean the sills are buggered too?), where my back bumper used to sit it's very badly rusted and crumbled away and i'm pretty sure the under side of my doors need welding up.
Will i need new door/window seals if this is the case?
How much do you guys think the bodywork is going to cost? Also i'd like a respray black. What have you all payed in the past for this in the past?
So basically - How much for the body work and how much would a new paint job cost?
Cheers TMF

Not if you do it yourselfConsiderably more than the car's worth...
Usually!!!

I did (or am still doing!) about £500 worth of welding to my Mini, and thats just part of the floor, and new sills! And it cost.... £46, for the panels.
Get a welder, cheap one, and practise!! Such a valuable skill, can't rate it enough. Good luck

Edit: I'm forgetful

depends who does it. if i was to do it i would look at 400 for the respray alone......600 for the panel work. so 1000 for it all i would say would possibly be the cheaapest unless u do it yourself
Good grief!!
You can't even buy the panels required to do that properly for £600!!
From his description its gonna need:-
- Floors(1/2 floors with inner and outer sills)
-Front end(inc scuttle)
- Inner flitches
-Boot floor
-Lower boot lip repair panel
-Rear valence
- Doors(repair and re-skin)
-Door Steps(poss full width)
A few other local repairs
A good paint job will cost £900ish, especially if he wants black as the prep will have to be spot on.
To do the car properly you'll be looking at spending £3000 to £3500.
A proper job isn't cheep.

blooody hell seamus!! it surely doesnt need all those panels!! flitches?? he said cosmetic not rot box...... lol
I bet a pound to a penny that once you start to remove the outer panels and dig around you end up buying all the panels on my list!!
If the scuttles got to the point where its holed then theres gonna be rot underneath it, the water leaking in through the scuttle will have also wrecked the floor.
This will have also trashed the step sills.
If the rear bumper lip is rotten then the boot floor will be as well, the lower panel underneath the bootlid will also have gone.
The rot he can see is cosmetic, its the bits he can't that are gonna be the problem!!
Trust me on this, I've not seen a mini in ages that pleasantly surprised me.

obviously pictures would be needed to assertain the extent of the rot.
Did not mean to offend i just couldnt justify some of the panels you had listed?
