How do i get the attention of the other members to come over here? Am i allowed to bump this to the top? I've just read a topic on replacing floor panels. It seems fairly straight forward and i'm thinking about doing an evening class on welding ten having a pop myself

I have wondered about the "BUMP" thing too :\.

Anyways you should really get yourself a welder and practice and have a go yourself. I am 16 and i asked my mum and she said no i cant get a welder, but i talked to her and explained and now she has said yes. I am trying to find one on ebay so i can practice and get all my panels welded in. A friend is coming to show me before i start on the car.

Danny.

Good man. Get your hands stuck in. Problem is my dads a mechanic that works from home so it's not like i can hijack the garage as it's his place of business so i have no were to work without having to wait until sundays, which id rather spend wrapped up in bed

Had the a panels done already. Why do you think the inner wings need doing? and why door skins. They're fine as far as i can see (the skins that is)

the a pannels i was just geussing as they ussally go, you will proberly find the inner wings will need some patching/repairing once you get the front off especilly behind the top shock mounts they always rot behind there. when the door bottoms rot like that it ussaly rots out the bottom of the door skim and then the door skin needs replaced, but i could be wrong i was just stating the worst case cenario

hope you get some thing sort rob

I have just had the front end of my 96 spi done. The list of panels should include scuttle closing panels (2) and maybe flitch panels.

Scally how much did you spend? Was it a DIY or did you take it to a pro

Front end only...full scuttle, 2x scuttle closing panels, 2x wings, front panel, top dash rail, 2x flitch panels, 2x A panels. Had it done by Larry, who does all of Wood and Pickett's welding, in his workshop. Cost so far about £900, but I'm having the back end done now. I can't weld and am too old/busy to learm...lol

Any proffesional body workers want to have a say on how much they think they'd charge? Pm me if you're not willing to say publicly.

by the way the chances are you wont get business out of me. Maybe you will but don't look at this topic as a potential money earner. I'm just after an estimate on the cost from what you can see in the photos
