back on the case again - got all the electrics working and am starting to put it back together - brake pedal was sticking so got a repair kit for the master cylinder but it turned out to be the pedal pivot shaft was rusted up from lack of use - plus gas sorted that out but it means i have to go through the brake bleeding palavar - got a pair of early impreza buckets to trial fit - should keep me busy this w/e, just a case of keeping on with it now and getting an MoT soon hopefully....

Update: stuck a gallon of petrol inthe tank and after a bit of churning she started! and settled down nicely - not bad considering she been stuck in a damp marley garage over the winter without any TLC - reckon its the e ignition that helps

door glass and locks refitted tonight - reckon fridays the day to drive her out of the garage

mate how do you get the locks out? ive stripped my doors but cant figure out how to get them off

strip the door undo the 4 big screws holding the lock against the door frame- undo the screws holding the inner door handle and the lock lever to the inner door pull the lock away from the frame gently and the long strips of metal linking the lock to the handles should come with it - the links are connected to the lock mechanism by poxy tiny c clips - you'll have to get these off with pliers but be careful because they will fly off into the distance very easily - once both are off you can get to the two door handle screws - undo them and wiggle the handle out of the hole - job done
the outer handle is clipped to the lock but it is easy to just push them apart - remember to relocate it when your putting it back together

just picked up my "cooper" drivers seat from ebay seller - come up lovely with a bit of a scrub - should be able to fit that tomorrow as well - should be a great day working on the GT in the sun
