Not to mention the fact that clear rims look utterly retarded.
If they are polycarb, which I assume they are, I'd love to see how they are when they've seen a bit of heat and UV.

As an engineering exersize they are great
Sticking a piece of polycarbonate in a lathe and then drilling some holes in it? Yes it's an excerise, for a day 1 engineering student!
