You may find the best gains from having a rolling roll tuning session to make your everything is set up right.

Next cheapest is to shed weight! This will give you better acceleration if you shed enough!
After that you're looking at cylinder heads, camshafts, carb and ignition systems.

the rest all depends to whether you want to take the engine out of the car and strip it down for a change of cam etc
if not a 12g295 cooper head will give you a bit more poke

Basically, i have a basic 998cc with a stage one kit on it. I can't afford to convert to a 1275 or buy one.
buying a 1275 will work out cheaper than tuning you 998 past a stage 1 kit

Yeh but 998cc gives you extra smile factor when you blast past something much bigger than you

Be prepared to use a LOT of petrol and make noise but not a lot of power, maybe less than you allready have.I have just splashed out on a weber

I'll go with that and add mg dizzy as well.mg metro cam, lightened fly wheel, 12g295 cylinder head, hif 38
