Just had a look at TAFFYS find looks well worth a try.
It was recommended via a PM. So I'll probably give it a whirl.

I then only seem to have audio when I save it as an AVI file and saving as an MP4 means the videos will only open via Quicktime.
I imagine it'll work for YouTube uploads, but I really want to use Windows Movie Maker and I can't due to only having audio only?
Why couldn't they provide an MPG format too.

Then that file loaded up in Windows Movie Maker and ran without any problems. The picture and sound quality were just as good too, so I guess that's one way of doing it then even if it a bit arse backwards. lol

As for editing it into segments most moderate to high end editing programs should support the raw VOB files, if it doesn't you can normally fool it into reading it by changing the .vob extension to .mpg since they are almost the same and use EXACTLY the same codecs. All editing software should support MPEGII and AC3.
If you want to compress it down for what ever reason you can use a program called AutoGK that will compress it into XVID (a open source version of DivX)/AVI file. It's very easy to use, will understand VOB's and allows you to specify a output size. It will take care of everything else and automatically adjust the output for the optimum quality. I recommend this as H264 is still very processor intensive, and not as widely supported.
If it's screenshots you want then VLC Media Player can do this out of the box.
Dave.
EDIT: Sorry just looked and your using Handbrake - that's a awesome piece of kit too.

But I've managed to do what I wanted via that 'Free Studio Manager' from DVD Video Soft.com. So I should be uploading a few more archive Mini clips to YouTube soon.

I believe I should have just uploaded it straight after converting it to an MPEG4 file for the best quality (or so the guide on YouTube states). But I really like using Windows Movie Maker to edit videos and add titles and stuff. Plus even when it's edited/cut down to the clip I wanted, the MPEG4 file is massive and so I guess converting it is necessary otherwise it'd be too big for uploading anyway?
I had some trouble editing the end of this one though and that's why it fades out on the next news story. I just couldn't seem to edit the ending right and I guess it's as a result of converting compressed video files?
Either way I'm quite pleased I can now go mad and edit and do whatever I want to the Mini DVDr discs I received (after exchanging a few of mine).
