Hi Guys,

Just thought i would let you know my Fletcher Exhaust was stolen from Oscar last night in the West Sussex area.

I drove hime home and parked up at around 18:30 - By 07:40 this morning the exhaust had gone.

Seems like quite a professional job - Well lit residential car park, ver low ground clearence (Being a Mini) and no other damage!

They just unbolted and took the back box and link pipe.

The Police have said it sounds like a steal to order as this exhaust would only really fit a Mini - which makes me wonder as most Mini drivers seem to look out for each other, not nick parts!

Anyway, keep and eye on your Mini's guys as there are some nasty people out there!!

Fuel going missing from your tank you could sort of understand as its not exactly difficult for people?

I'm sure someone posted they had there wing mirrors sniped recently at a mini show

But the exhaust going is way too weird!!! I know we are in a credit crunch but c'mon! :D

Sorry to hear your exhaust was stolen mate its annoying when no one can leave your car alone, seems no one can have anything nice without someone
wrecking it.

the amount i worry about my mini is borderline OCD now, everytime i see a topic like this or "my minis gone" i think,
maybe ill let those few rust patches get a little bigger and just go for the rat look!!

that should put most "chavs" off,

hard luck mate, hope you sort something out!

on the subject of being dissapointed at certain mini owners not looking out for eachother, and infact stealing from eachother...I had my whole coolbag full with a 48 pack of tannants lager with about 3 cans removed, a full bottle of morgans spiced rum, 2 bottles of coke and my food for the 3 days taken when i was at the entertainment!

yes..i prioritised...48 cans of lager, but they werent all for me...honestly!

was bitterly dissapointed. (no pun intended)

Sorry to hear that, it's pretty rubbish. Someone once nicked the headrests out of my mums Pug 205 Mardi Gras and someone nicked the side skirts of my dads Fiat Bravo HGT.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure I agree with the police about robbing to order, an exhaust could be fitted onto anything with a bit of fettling. You'll probably find it stuck under the back of some chavved up corsa/nova/saxo/106 (delete as appropriate) because the owner thinks it makes it look like a rally car. It doesn't really matter about the bore as long as it sounds and looks 'special'.

Keep an eye out in the local area, if you see any mini's or other cars with similar exhausts have a good look for any distinguishing marks (I'd know mine cause it's got a blob of....something, not sure what, stuck on tail pipe just in front of the rear box). It should be fairly obvious if it's on another car and mini's are fairly noticable.

It's a sad time we live in when you can't have an exhaust or wing mirrors on your car for fear of them being half inched.

Last year I had my Aston style fuel cap nicked from my old mini. They did it properly as well, and left me the rest of the bits neatly on the floor...

This sort of thing makes me sick , you work hard for nice things and some thieving scumbag comes along and takes it.
I hope you get some information soon , Ill also be keeping a look out , the mini community is very small ans its sad that an individual would even think of taking something of a fellow mini enthusiast.

Sad to hear it buddy. Some people never think what it does to the owner. Not long ago I had my offside rear arch nicked none of the other one just the one corner. Really peeved me off as now it looks really weird without it.

Whereabouts is West Sussex are you, marcsrustymini?

Did you report it to the plods? :)

I'm in Dorking, not far. On tuesday night last week some twunt made off with my Aston fuel cap, trashed my lockable filler cap & swiped the entire contents of Matilda's fuel tank.

They knew what they were doing & my Matilda Cooper was specifically targetted. Looks like yours was an' all. The police may well like to know. Actually, I'd like them to know about this too...
