It sounds really like someone is doing up a Mini in your area. Aston filler cap, exhaust, headlights? All in a couple of weeks? Ask around at local clubs etc, see if any members have noticed a new Mini on a driveway they dont recognise.
Also, locking wheelnuts may be a good idea right now if you have alloys!

I am sorry for you. I know how it feels.

One night, some g*t took an old radio that was in the workshop. Nothing else was took. The radio didn't even work.

weve got some realy old style petrol pumps outside work, theyre shell ones and have a shell symbol globe thing on top, anyway we went into work one morning, globes were still there, when we finished work they had gone !! They were worthless anyway as they were fibreglass copies i made, the real ones were glass, and some yobs broke them one night! Anyway, i made some more, and filled the new ones with concrete before replacing them, their still there now, id love to see someone try and get them now!

it definately sounds like some chavs got hold of a mini (sadly) in your area and is doing it out, using stolen parts, but how do you prove the bits are yours?

Seriously though if youve got alloys, have you got locking wheelnuts?

Its a shame itll be illegal to electrify the outsides of cars......

Well im still trying to work out what to do next - do i replace the exhaust and wait to see if it get nicked again, or do i keep Oscar off the road at my parents for a bit while i work on him?

Eith way looks like i wont be doing my fav event - L2B.

I was considering having the exhaust welded on - but that could prove a problem later on. What security is there for exhausts?

hi mate sorry to hear this i'm also in west sussex, chichester area. A friend of mine had his headlights nicked a couple of weeks ago, which was impressive seeing as the front of his mini was basically in a holly bush which means it must have been bloody dificult and painful getting to them, that was in halnaker on the petworth road.

Come say hello one day if you want, i run the local club chichester mini club we meet the last sunday of the month in the theatre car park

Hi Steble,

Love the holly story - i have visions of that being quite painful (I hope it was)

Thanks for the invite - send over the address and i will try and make it down there. Not sure if i will be in Oscar though as it looks like he is comming off the road for a while

we had constant problems at work on a rally car with the exhaust hooks popping out the rubber hangers, or the hanger and exhaust popping off the hook thing on the body, my solution was to cut a groove in each hook, and fit a bigish washer and circlip, maybe thatll make it more difficult, rather than simply popping the rubbers off. I was going to suggest using torx nuts on the clamps, but molegrips could still get them off.... If they want it theyll have it, unfortunately
