Sorry to hear about this!
I get so paranoid leaving my Mini anywhere apart from in my Garage. I just think, if someone wants it enough, theyl have it. Its pathetic.

Happened to me too about 10 years ago, went out to the car to go to work and found that they took the carb, spare wheel and all interior shiney bits. The GT was then pushed into the garage and has been there ever since.

Its not just mini's
The new trend of chavva'a is to steal CAT's off landy's and HWB motors, to sell for scrap...never herd of a mini tho...how the hell did they get underneth to get to the link pipe?

On the Land rovers and the like they use a large bore pipe cutter (so no messing with rusty seiezed bolts) O also a lot quicker.

Fekin robbin blighters......(go's set up camp outside to baby sit my carbon rear box)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all your posts and kind words.

It may sound really sad but im just sat here totally gutted. I cant really afford a new exhaust, and even if i did whats to say that woudn't get nicked too.

For Oscars safty i have had to take him down to my parents in Surrey, where i fear due to seriouse lack of money and unable to keep him at my home encase bits get nicked, he may stay for some time.

I just dont know what to do.

Looks like i may not be on the London to Brighton as i had hoped ;D

Strangely my neighbours all seem to love Oscar - they all seem to come and talk to me about him when im working on him. And i always keep the revs and music down low when near home

it really sucks that you have had your exhaust stolen. id be hunting them down right now, exhaust or no exhaust
will keep an eye out on ebay for one in your area

Whereabouts is West Sussex are you, marcsrustymini?

Did you report it to the plods? ;D

I'm in Dorking, not far. On tuesday night last week some twunt made off with my Aston fuel cap, trashed my lockable filler cap & swiped the entire contents of Matilda's fuel tank.

They knew what they were doing & my Matilda Cooper was specifically targetted. Looks like yours was an' all. The police may well like to know. Actually, I'd like them to know about this too...

Im In Crawley, and i know Dorking quite well.

I did report to the plods, and the lady who took the call was a BIG classic Mini fan, she owned a MK1 - i think she was more upset then me by the end of the call.

If you have not told them already you should - If thouse B******s are targeting our Mini's and enough of us report them they will have to link the crims and do sonething more about it (I use to work for Reigate Police)

hi mate sorry to hear this i'm also in west sussex, chichester area. A friend of mine had his headlights nicked a couple of weeks ago, which was impressive seeing as the front of his mini was basically in a holly bush which means it must have been bloody dificult and painful getting to them, that was in halnaker on the petworth road.

Come say hello one day if you want, i run the local club chichester mini club we meet the last sunday of the month in the theatre car park

i suppose with later style hangers they just pulled the exhuast off the rubber - i assume the older type would take longer to remove?

Its a shame you cant really do anything, my G/F's brother had his MK1 golf stripped - came down the drive to see it on breeze blocks, cant imagine the feeling.
