well its been a while but after 18months of shows and tracks days i got bored and decided to race my mini, after lots of enquiring i had to convert back to 5port,so i had a complete new engine built, then had to weld plates under the roll cage and all the other msa rules stuff and got my msa nat b licence.

i raced with a few clubs cscc swing 60s,brands hatch mini festival all comers and classics at combe.to be honest i had good and bad meetings,my first at brand started well with 4th on the grid out of 25 but on the 2nd lap the tie bar pulled through the subframe, then had 2 3rds the and big hit that pushed the bulk head back and the throttle pedal was resting on the brake pedal, pulled it out straight and then won the all comers at brands and on the last meeting it bent a valve so a dnf.. any way now im really hooked again and now semi rebuilding the car again,

this how it looked last year

and at brand with my first win

now ive had a 1380 all steel bottom end with a very large head done with titan full roller rockers, with single 45 weber.swiftune dog box with there roller drop gears and tran x lsd
omex 200 and making very good power with good torque.ive decided to fit a sd multi point cage and a new cobra evo seat so i can run with the miglias in the invitation class,
change the shocks to avo double adjustables.

And I can agree that it again looks awsome in person!

But much, much better when it's on the track! Nice job, will look out for you this coming season!

hopefully it be faster this year as it was 133bhp now with the omex electric water pump and little bits and bobs its 141bhp with 107t,just ordered kad 4pots with the ally hubs and flanges,so should stop better as the 7.5 s brake were bit crap even with the metalic pads.and now rolling on 12x6 with yoko 048rs

Slightly ironic how a very well built 5 port can run more power than the 7 port. 141bhp from an n/a a series is a little bit mad! Watch out for this around the country this year, it really is insane. Hopefully over the next year or 2 it'll develop into the finely tuned race car Sam is aiming for.

Why are you going up to 12 inch wheels and why aren't you running slicks?

This is such a good build!

We run a car in the swinging 60s class, have to use road legal tyres.

An also, 12' wheels equals better tyre choice, bigger footprint, lower profile, go faster!!

i will be running slicks with the miglias, 12s for the cscc as i had to much side wall movement with the 10s and they would go off near the end of a 40 min race as there soft compound and the 12 048rs are medium and should last.

still got the 7port head but is got a chip/crack between the valves on 2 cylinders so need to get it repaired sometime, then proberly use it as door stop for bit untill get round to using it,i still need to finish the 8port yet so i can road rally it.

yea will do,if i sell them it be calipers, discs which are groved version with the drive flanges, and i buy new mintex pads for them as the metalic pads are strong money and not the best for road use.
