hi, just ran outside and got a quick picture as its peeing down!! lol

couldnt find my tape so i used my other method. my finger lol.

thats about 50mm between carb inlet and bonnet lip although the ram pipe may fit under the lip.

so unless i can find an airfilter less than 50mm deep its going to have to be a rampipe with something over it

Never use a ram pipe without any filter!
They're supposed to be used with sock fileters, with the hif44 a ram stack which goes inside the cone filter can be used, like this one:
http://www.minispare...p;title=RAMPIPE HIF44 BLUE PIPERC...

(Dont expect power/torque increase by fitting it...)

how does the filter connect to that?

Could you not get one of them pancake filters in there Dan? A filter with no ram pipe is a lot better than the other way around.

to be honest I've never fitted one so I have no idea, but i swear you could get some about 1.5" deep. Maybe not for a HIF44 though?

i suppose i could get a thinner pancake filter for an HS4 (if available) and modify it to fit the HIF44...

You're supposed to use ram pipes with a filter.

you just need a sock filter! the slip over the pipes held on by a cable tie, make sure you leave ample room between the filter and the entry of the ram pipe.
