just a quick update... im desiding a new heritage shell is my way forward, as i just cannot be dealing with more welding and rust everywhere, holes, dents, and more bogded up wiring and previous owners who cannot do servicing and never changing oil filters till they wendge the oil pressure valve open and then run about with low oil pressure till the engine nearly goes pop! >_< >_< :D :gimme:

thanks to rich from cv1 minis donating me some suspention stuff to get the 1965 delux on its feet >_<

apart from that

i am also doing alot of reserch on getting thunderbird 2 up in the air at shows.... using pneumatic cylinders. mainly for show but also to use practically by fixing my car anywhere, at the touch of a button.

i got to start doing these things and make it one of the most of rebuilding it.
im also looking for a bmw exhaust system with a valve and extra silencer so at low revs it uses this silencer and over 3500 rpm it switches to straight through and makes some noise. :D but i might just work it off a choke cable. or a solinoid. and a switch. :)

ether way i need to deside before i put it in stone and build my thunderbird 2 back up.

update.

got a mini as a donor.
started stripping it now. for sorting out welding and general modifications i should have done first time round.
worked out it will only cost me about £1200 in parts and paint to do. especially now im spraying it green myself so i have more satisfaction in the overall rebuild knowing i done the spraying too.

im feeling next summer is a nice finishing date for thunder 2's return. if not before that. if I lose the job aswel. and i have been facing alot of pressure to resign and i still have no intention too.

on the main front everything seems to be settling down now. i still have to face a burnt out mini everyday on the driveway but i have made plans for that too.

im chopping it in half rebuilding it into a nice sofa for my house when i get my own place. just seems right that i keep at least the back end for something. and not to the scrapy.
i am planning to make a "A5 Mini of the year" trophy out of half a burnt Superlite that i want to get engraved.

im just one of these people that never lets anything go to waste. especially anything mini.

bump myself. *yawn*

make some mass improvements to the design of thunderbird2 mk2.

same design as before. green with CF front end and same bodykit blended in but with better bonding and hopefully NO cracks.

battery box made bigger for a more heavy duty battery.
modified fuel tank with rubber (steel braded) breather tube running down other side to top of the rear skirt outside. where i can see it.and not somewhere it can get dislodged by stuff in boot even tho i dont keep stuff in boot anymore.

fire extinguishers on the rear seat plumbed in to boot and engine bay. disguised as a NOS bottle ...painted today :gimme:
all brake lines and braded fuel lines and battery cable to run inside the car (and mainly because we have fuel thiefs in the ares cutting all pipes under our cars... the idoits (my farther being a victim with his transit.

a 1kg extinguisher (i can get free from work) that will fit there prefectly for the passenger footwell
a compressed gas sticker for the rear window.

progress is slow but im thinking it out well to prevent any more stuff like that ever happening again. or to anyones mini in the club.
i was even thinking about turning a mini van into a fire truck with mounted hose. and some small blue becons but i don't know if i can do that legally. so if someone can help us on that i would be more than greatful.

yer engine is ok. im swopping the clutch housing over and adding in a pair of stright cut drop gears.
a spi verto clutch with crank sencer. and run it on a subaru ignition system. fitting a front mounted rad.

just gotta save up another £4500 for a new shell, bodykit, and carbon fibre flip front.
i want to start this in the rebuild section now... so can i ask vern's playmate to close this thread please. ta! xxx
