I know they are popular in the stock car world because of the large offset on 6J wheels (as this is the widest you're allowed), and because steel doesn't crack like alloys can do in our 'non-contact' (yeah right!) motorsport. I was just lucky to buy Revolutions at a tenner each, with A539's on! They'd been raced on so were scratched up, but that didn't matter to me.A while ago I weighed some mini 10 inch steels, 12 inch mags and 13x7 mags. The weight difference was quite substantial between steel and alloy wheels, and between 10 and 13 inch tyres. Steel 13s and wide tyres must be the heaviest combination you can go for. With this in mind, why are the Wellers so popular, just for the offset?
