New starter solenoid fitted. Also fitted a new battery so the red one starts under its own steam. Head retorqued. Just need to sort out an exhaust from the manifold back, and a few heater pipes, bleed brakes and she's good to go.

Took it to Hitec motor sport in Kidderminster for rolling road session. 96bhp (calculated) @ flywheel and 90 ft/lb torque, but more importantly got the rough running at low revs sorted (fingers crossed).

Apparently if your carb is full of rust the engine don't like it !

Had the carb stripped and cleaned, fuel line blown through, new needle and valve in carb, new plugs + rolling road. Not bad at £180

Next on the list is an in-line fuel filter

Sold my 1975 Innocenti 1300 last week, but today I'm going to look at a 1981 Leyland Clubman 1275GT! :)

Over the last few days I've fixed my front indicator not working (bullet connectors behind grill had corroded alot, replaced with soldered wire joints) and also fixed some funny noises being caused by excessive engine movement.. fixed by tightening loose engine steadies and fixing a lower steady which had a bolt snapped. Much better but still wanting another steady/upgraded bushes to hold the engine even tighter in position.

Removed my lovely but too large Alfa 156 seats, and fitted some tatty but pretty cool Mx5 ones:

Whilst looking for some rag, realised that the old bit of rag that the original headlights for my car came wrapped up in is actually a Wood and Pickett tailored car cover! It's shrunk a bit though.....

New dizzy and coil.

Set the timing and fuel mix.

Test dive ... and ...it's actually not too bad. Running a bit lean, but that's easy and otherwise it's quite nice to drive.

Only downside, the ****** speedo isn't working now.

Removed my electric fan, going back to the yellow plastic one, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Good time to fit my new heater, got one of those real little ones from Minispares.

They're really nice! I was thinking of denim to match the door cards...

Couldn't find a servo takeoff for the manifold, so cut down a spare oil filter pipe and used the banjo assembly.

Found a suitable length of pipe for engine breather.

Finished preparing the rear end for a new valence when it turns up.

Ordered the final few bits and pieces.
